I am remaking myself as Athena.
I am a powerlifting enthusiast and feminist. I find that I have different ideas on what it means to be fit than a lot of men and women and want to share my thoughts. I like to lift, eat, and play. I also like to discuss ideas, facts, and life. I plan to include a bit of everything, here.
If the way I talk about my diet seems backward, it is. My needs are unusual. I suffer from a chronic illness, gastroparesis. I was also recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I openly welcome and answer any questions about my illness.
I am a twenty-something lady from the Pacific Northwest. I now live in the deliciously sunshiny state of Colorado. A few years ago, I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physics. I became slightly obsessed with the imagery of Athena while working on my thesis for college. I wrote about Athena Moment and gender in the field of Physics. I do my best to debunk myths surrounding the Feminist movement and to promote equality for all individuals.
Around the same time that I began working on my thesis, I started lifting. Powerlifting has quickly become one of my greatest passions. I want to share my journey and my passion.
I have earned a certificate from the University of California, San Francisco in Nutrition for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. You can view the certificate, here: https://www.coursera.org/maestro/api/certificate/get_certificate?verify-code=BMPCFYCH8Q
